The day commenced with Pony races from 12.30pm followed by the main races at 2pm.  The riders were cheered on by an enthusiastic crowd and judging by the queues the Totes were kept busy all day.

Aldington Point to Point

A capacity crowd attended the Aldington Point to Point on a bright and breezy Easter Monday and Foxwood Maclean and our sister companies Mulberry Cottages and Complete Land Management welcomed dozens of past, present and hopefully future clients to their marquee conveniently situated between the paddock and the course.

Guests were served with a beer courtesy of Shepherd Neame, and a large variety of drinks and nibbles.  There was homemade chicken and sausage pies with a warming chilli soup and as the afternoon progressed hot drinks and an assortment of homemade cakes were heartily consumed by those bracing themselves against the wintery weather.  In fact it became a constant march between race and marquee as the force of wind became increasingly bitter – the poor old horses had to wait outside!

Hot drinks going down a treat on a blustery day!

The race winners were as follows:

Open Maiden (4, 5, 6 & 7 y/o): Mr Bed Bugs
Restricted: No Pain No Gain
Open Maiden: Day Time Run
Mixed Open: Broughton Green
SEHC Club Members Conditions: Glint of Steel
Hunt Members: Flowersoftherarest

Despite the weather, everybody had great fun, (some were even lucky enough to go home with some winnings!) and all who attended agreed it had been an afternoon with a real party feeling and some excellent racing too!

More people enjoy the warmth!
